JAI Flex-Eye multispectral camera front view of sensor with no lens mounted, and side view with lens mounted and graphic demonstrating path of light through internal components to sensor

The JAI Flex-Eye is an innovative imaging system that offers a completely customized VNIR multispectral camera to meet your specific imaging needs.

The Flex-Eye offers the unique benefits of the Fusion Series prism-based multispectral area-scan cameras combined with a customized design process where the user specifies the number of desired wavebands, sensor resolution, and ideal spectral range for each channel.

Wavebands can be as narrow as 25 nm and positioned exactly where you need them, anywhere in the 405 to 1000 nm range.

Equipped with Sony Pregius CMOS sensors, this system offers excellent image quality and high frame rate capabilities. The camera can be equipped with sensors offering 1.6 MP per waveband, or 3.2 MP per waveband. Up to three separate wavebands at full resolution can be specified, or a Bayer sensor can be utilized for interpolation or to extract additional spectral information during post processing.

JAI's advanced prism technology ensures all wavebands are captured simultaneously and are optically aligned with precision, eliminating co-registration requirements or alignment algorithm issues.

High-speed 10 GigE interfaces offer multi-stream technology. Wavebands can be analyzed separately, or combined or overlaid on other wavebands depending on the specific requirements of the application. Auto-negotiation technology enables automatic adjustment to slower speeds if necessitated by the network.

Sample JAI Flex-Eye multispectral configurations

The custom configuration can be easily completed through JAI's user-friendly online tool that walks you through the customization process step-by-step. You will be prompted to select the number of sensors, desired resolution, type of sensor, and can 'drag and place' your wavebands directly on a spectral chart at the widths and locations that you need. JAI will work with you to review and confirm the feasibility of your design, and determine any final special requirements prior to development.
